Latinx Jewish Belonging for Families

worlds

Olamim means “worlds” in Hebrew. We are a cultural and educational space that offers home and expression to Latinx Jewish families and individuals who experience themselves as part of many cultural worlds, and seeks to amplify and center a diversity of Jewish and other cultural expressions.

Our Vision

Olamim features a family engagement program for Latinx Jewish families that blends nature connection, cultural expression, and community-building. It includes seasonal playgroups and camps, a year-round Chavurah (family group), an annual retreat, and community programs open to the larger community. We also research, documentation, and advocacy as part of our activities.

  • There are so many ways to get involved with Olamim. Come to one of our programs to get a sense for the community, join the chavurah for regularity. However you want to join, we are so excited to welcome you. Visit our programs page to learn more!

  • So many families at the intersection of these identities are hungry for more spaces and material that bridges their worlds. Visit our resources page for a lengthy list of more things to check out.

  • We can’t do any of this without the support of our community, or our fiscal sponsor, Bechol Lashon. Consider making a gift to make it possible for us to continue creating space for Latinx Jewish families in the Bay Area. Donate here.

“It was such an exciting space to be in where these worlds merged somewhere outside of our home with other children and families who have similar experiences.”
